Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas

So way back in 2007 I went on a cruise with a certain someone that we won’t name. We went on the brand new Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas ship. It was only 6 months old and at the time it was the largest cruise ship in the world. It was a great trip and an AMAZING ship!

Fast forward 8 years and I was given a chance to once again cruise on the Freedom of the Seas ship. Why? Well they just enhanced the ship and added a bunch of cool new stuff, so I was invited to check it all out. Neat huh?

The newly enhanced Freedom of the Seas® is a marvel of maritime engineering, packed with awesome innovations to stir your imagination. Share a high five with Shrek as part of The DreamWorks® Experience. Catch a first-run movie in the 3D theater or poolside under the stars on the outdoor movie screen. Infuse color into your cruise with the artworks of the BRITTO Gallery or with the frosted confections of the Cupcake Cupboard. And finish the evening with a selection of reds or whites at the renovated, now-more-intimate Vintages wine bar.

Plus, you can still enjoy all the revolutionary features Freedom of the Seas has always been known for – FlowRider® surf simulator, rock climbing wall, ice-skating rink, Royal Promenade, cantilevered whirlpools, mini golf course, H2O Zone water park, and much more.

One of the first things I told my friends and family when I read about all the enhancements was ‘There is a cupcake shop! ON THE SHIP!” Anyone who knows me knows that I love love LOVE cupcakes. So the fact that there is a cupcake shop (that also happens to be next door to a Ben & Jerry’s) on the ship is just the best thing ever. I wonder if i can get through all 30 flavors in just 3 days?

I am also looking forward to checking out Sabor, a new mexican restaurant on the ship. One of my favorite things about cruising is being able to try out all kinds of food and the addition of this restaurant means I can have one of my favorite kinds of food. Mexican dinner followed up by some cupcakes poolside while watching a movie on the outdoor screen? Sounds like the perfect evening to me!

I can’t wait to get on the ship! And don’t worry, I’ll share all about it when I get home.

**Disclosure: Myself and a guest were treated to a complimentary cruise in exchange for social media coverage of the newly enhanced Freedom of the Seas. As always, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
