I made a big move in April of this year – into a new house and a new neighborhood (SoDo – South Downtown) here in Orlando. In addition to working on my house and being knee deep in projects and problems, I’ve had fun exploring my new neighborhood and all it has to offer. This exploration has led to a new feature – Saturdays in SoDo! I will be featuring fun things to do, places to go, and things to eat and drink around SoDo to help make your Saturdays a bit more fun.
I was very excited when just a few weeks after I moved À La Cart SoDo opened just up the street! If you are local to Orlando, you probably already know about the original À La Cart, the Milk District food truck park. Food trucks, craft beer, outdoor seating, and events – what else could you ask for? Another location of course! They opened their long-awaited second location À La Cart SoDo on May 1, 2024.
One of the biggest draws of À La Cart SoDo is the incredible variety of food options. From classic comfort food to international cuisine, there’s something to satisfy every craving. Imagine indulging in mouthwatering tacos, juicy burgers, or authentic ramen, all in one place. The hardest part will be deciding where to start! This second location features 8 mobile food vendors:
- 503 Latin Fusion
- Barrio Español
- Kiwi Coffee Cafe
- Nona Street Pizza
- Oldenburg Provisions
- SmashDunk BRGR
- Over Rice
- Taitō Sushi
I love having so many options when you just aren’t sure what you are in the mood for. You could start with lumpia, throw in a smashburger, and finish up with some ice cream! And don’t forget that they also feature a rotating draft list of craft beer, as well as wines, ciders, seltzers, and more.
They do a lot of events, including tap takeovers where they will feature brews from a specific brewery for a weekend (or sometimes even a week), so make sure to keep an eye on their events calendar. They also offer things like movies, trivia, live music, and Sunday Brunch.
The new location has more seating, both indoors and out, that the original along with more covered outdoor seating for those unpredictable Florida summer days (and nights). You can choose from comfy couches, 4-top tables outside, or grab a seat at one of the huge communal tables inside and make some new friends.
Beyond the food and entertainment, À La Cart SoDo has become a true community hub. It’s a place where people come together to connect, share experiences, and support local businesses. The friendly atmosphere and welcoming vibe make it feel like you’re hanging out with old friends.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your friends, bring your appetite, and head to À La Cart SoDo for an unforgettable experience. Trust me, your taste buds (and your social life) will thank you!
