Christmas in Orlando – 5 Socially Distanced Activities to Help You Feel Festive

The holidays are going to look a little different this year and if you are anything like me, you are looking for safe and fun ways to make the season feel a little more festive. So today I’m sharing 5 socially distanced activities that should totally put you in a festive mood!

1. Give Kids the World Night of a Million Lights

Give Kids The World Village to Host Night of a Million Lights Holiday Spectacular

For the first time ever, Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee will open its gates to the public – offering a glimpse into the magical, whimsical non-profit resort that fulfills the wishes of critically ill children from around the world. Now through Sunday, January 3, 2021, visitors can experience the childlike wonder of the Village during Night of a Million Lights, a walk-through, fully immersive holiday light spectacular.

More than three million lights will adorn the 84-acre resort, including a 150-foot lighted tunnel along the Avenue of Angels leading to elaborately decorated wish family residential villas; more than 50 larger-than-life holiday-themed wireframes, some spanning more than 40 feet; an enormous dancing gingerbread arch; and out-of-this-world space-themed decorations showcasing the Village’s newest centerpiece, Henri’s Starlite Scoops.

I’m heading out to GKTW tonight with my parents and I can’t wait!

2. Holiday Movies

Throughout the month of December, the Enzian Theater will be offering a variety of holiday movies for all tastes. Still a little leary about being in a theater? They have Popcorn Flicks in the Park too!

Updates due to COVID-19: City staff will be present to remind attendees to keep a safe social distance. Masks are encouraged and hand washing stations will be available. Currently, popcorn will not be handed out at this event in an effort to minimize contact. Advanced registration is requested. RSVP via the link on individual event pages for your free, socially-distanced, 10’x10′ movie space. Up to 6 people per party.

3. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild & Swingin’ Holiday Party

Because of COVID-19, the yards of the Dr. Phillips Center became gathering places. The entertainment industry was—and still is—seriously impacted. So now they’re doing everything they can to reinvigorate the entire community.

From early December all the way through May, you can enjoy six months of incredible live entertainment, films, and unique experiences during their one-of-a-kind, outdoor Frontyard Festival™, presented by AdventHealth.

You’ll find everything from music to comedy, dance to community arts, and fitness classes to holiday festivities. And you’ll pick your own socially distant box for up to five people—where you can order food and drinks from some of your favorite local restaurants while you watch your show.

They are kicking off the Frontyard Festival with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild & Swingin’ Holiday Party! Big Bad Voodoo Daddy continues to fuse classic American jazz, swing, and Dixieland with the energy and spirit of contemporary culture.
