Marlow’s Tavern is kicking off the fall season with the annual Ribs & Whiskey menu of drool-worthy food and drink specials available at all four neighborhood taverns in Central Florida. Now through Monday, Oct. 17, guests will squeal with joy while devouring barbecue, handcrafted cocktails and featured drinks.
You may remember me talking about Ribs and Whiskey last year and how much I enjoyed it. Well this year is no exception!
This year I was able to check out the Ribs and Whiskey menu at the area’s newest location at Lee Vista Promenade. I’d heard about some of the new items on the menu this year and I was super excited to try them out. I started the evening off with a cocktail and of course had to try something special off the Ribs and Whiskey menu. In additional to a special food menu, they also have a special drink menu during this time as well. I had the R&W S’weet Tea which has Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka, fresh lemon, agave nectar, as is topped with a shot of Shock Top beer and a kick of orange. So so yummy and refreshing, especially in Florida where we definitely aren’t enjoying the fall weather yet.
The main attraction on the Ribs and Whiskey menu is of course the ribs, but I must admit that it was one of the side dishes that really got my attention. This year you can get Pimento Cheese “Stuffed” Tater Tots. Yep, you read that right. And these are a bunch of tiny tots either. These puppies could be a dish on their own!
The Ribs and Whiskey celebration menu features three delicious slathers served tableside – Jack Daniel’s glaze, East Carolina barbecue and Marlow’s chipotle barbecue sauce. Each gives a sweet, spicy, smoky or tangy zip to the perfectly seasoned ribs. My personal favorite was the chipotle barbecue sauce that is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy.
And because no meal at Marlow’s is complete without dessert, we ended the evening with their super popular Bourbon Bread Pudding – Crème-brûlée-soaked Cuban bread and a splash of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey. You can only get bread pudding at Marlow’s twice a year, so now is your chance to run in and give it a try. This stuff is amazing! It’s no wonder that guests are always asking when the bread pudding is coming back.
This year Marlow’s is also offering fans a chance to win a patio party for 10 guests at the Marlow’s location of their choice. Through Oct. 8, participants can enter the sweepstakes by providing their contact information through Marlow’s Facebook page. Fans who refer their friends and family to participate will receive bonus entries. The winner will be announced on Oct. 12.
