Last week I was invited, along with some other fabulous lady bloggers, to try out a new restaurant in Winter Park, FL – Braccia Pizzeria & Ristorante. Braccia is a Brazilian pizzeria. What is a Brazilian pizzeria you ask? Its amazing, that’s what it is! They have plenty of other tasty options in addition to pizza, but their specialty pizzas are the main draw on their menu. During our event we had the opportunity to try out a variety of things from their menu.
- Beef Carpaccio
- Braccia Shrimp
- Tropical Salad
- Chicken with Catupiry
- Brie with Apricot
- Canadian Ham with Mango Chutney
- Fish en Croite with Sicilian Risotto
- Rack of Lamb with Red Wine
- Homemade Churros with Dolce de Leche
We started off the evening with two appetizers and a salad. The Braccia Shrimp was amazing. Its wild caught shrimp with pesto and Parmesan cheese. They were seasoned perfectly and SO tasty. The tropical salad also had some wild caught shrimp along with fresh mango, pineapple, tomatoes, and a honey mustard dressing. At first I wasn’t sure what to think about the honey mustard dressing with the shrimp but it was great. It was just the right tangy punch the salad needed.
I am a pretty adventurous eater and I was super excited about all the “weird” toppings on the pizzas we were going to try. Hard boiled eggs? Brie and apricot? I was a little worried, but definitely willing to try out these new combinations. They were all amazing!
I have to say that my favorite was the Portguese pizza which was topped with onions, hard boiled eggs, olives, and ham. It was just so an amazing flavor combination. The Chicken with Catupiry cheese came in a very close second. Catupiry is a soft, mild-tasting creamy cheese that has an amazing flavor. Every time I think about that pizza I think about the Catupirty cheese and all the wonderful things I could put it on.
After trying four different types of pizza you’d think we would be done for the evening right? Oh no, it was time for the entrees! We had a choice between fish or lamb and I went with the fish. Although the fish was fresh, flavorful, and quite amazing the Sicilian Risotto was the start of this dish for me. They could have brought out just a plate of this risotto and I would have been a super happy camper. It was AMAZING! Please promise me that if you go to Braccia you will try the Sicilian Risotto, regardless of what else you eat. Promise?
To end the evening we were treated to homemade churros with Dolce de Leche and cheese ice cream. Yup, you read that right, cheese ice cream. I’m not even sure where to start with describing either part of this dish. The churros and the dolce de leche were for flavorful. The dolce de leche was something you could just eat by the spoonful. The cheese ice cream was… well, it was flipping amazing. A-MA-ZING! Cheese ice cream sounds weird but it wasn’t, it was heavenly. HEAVENLY PEOPLE! I’ve never seen so many ladies make sure happy faces while eating.
The restaurant is adorable and they even have gloves on the table for when you are eating their super thin crust pizza. Don’t even try to cut it with a knife and fork. Just man up and pick up your pizza! The three owners, one of which is the chef, obviously love what they do and it shows in every aspect of the restaurant and their food. I’m so excited that another awesome restaurant has come to Orlando. Definitely add Braccia to your “must try” list and stop by soon.
Thanks to Braccia Pizzeria & Ristorante for an amazing evening!
