I want to be Lebanese when I grow up!

“I want to be Lebanese when I grow up!”

Yup, that was one of the first things I said when asked how I liked the food at Paramount Fine Foods, a new Mediterranean (Lebanese) restaurant at I-Drive-360. Who knew that I LOVED Lebanese food!?

Paramount Fine Foods is based out of Canada and this location is the first of four restaurants in 2015 that will be opening around Central Florida and represents the brand’s entry to the USA, as they are extremely well established in Canada with plans to expand through-out Florida and the country.

I was lucky enough to be invited to their Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony last week and I’m so happy that I was able to attend. I did a little research on Lebanese food before we went and decided I would probably like it. I’ll try just about anything once, so I thought it was worth a shot.

The restaurant is a lot bigger inside than you would think. It light, bright, modern, and makes you feel at home. The whole kitchen area is open so you can see exactly what is going in. There is a drink station/dessert counter in the middle of the place and it was definitely one of my favorite spots. The desserts were AMAZING!

After learning a little more about Paramount Fine Foods, they did their ribbon cutting and we were able to try SO many of the things they offer there. If I had to pick my favorite, well, I just don’t think I could. But I really did enjoy the falafel straight from the fryer. The tahini sauce was to die for and I’m pretty sure it would make even cardboard taste amazing.

I also tried Tabbouleh, Moutabbal, hummus, Kafta, Chicken Shawarma, Manakeesh, and just about every dessert they offered that night. It was all amazing! Oh, and don’t forget the fresh mango and strawberry juices. I could have had a pitcher of that to myself and been a happy camper. I almost forgot – they make their own pita there is the restaurant and it is so SO good. They had served some tiny ones as sandwiches and I was tempted to ask for a bag of them to take home. Cute and delicious!

I had the opportunity to meet their US CEO, the general manager, and other members of their staff and they were just a great group of people. You could tell that they believed in their restaurant and the food they served, and were excited to share it with new people. You know you are in the right place when the CEO personally stops by to make sure you’ve tried certain things and to check that you’ve had enough to eat. Yes and yes!

I love trying new foods and am happy to report that I will definitely be back to Paramount for a full sit down meal. And if you are a local friend, I will probably be dragging you along with me. Don’t worry, it is totally worth the trip to I-Drive for this stuff.

Their hours of operation are Sunday – Thursday 11am to 12am, Friday & Saturday 11am to 1am – so you can enjoy their food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Parking is free in the multi-level garage that is just steps from their front door. There is even a small children’s play area inside the restaurant (side note: if you aren’t a “kid lover” you will be happy to know that the area is completely closed in, like with glass, and won’t interfere with your dining experience).
