DIY Flip Flop Wreath

Flip Flop Wreath

At the beginning of summer my mom sent me a picture of a summer wreath made from flip flops. I immediately thought about how cute it was and how easy it would be to make. I decided I wanted to make one for myself and that I wanted it to be Gator colors (orange and blue). After a little bit of searching I was able to track down orange and blue flip flops. To make the wreath I only needed a few things – flip flops, flowers, a piece of foam, and glue.

I started out by laying out the flip flops on the table and figuring how I wanted the wreath to look. It took a little bit of trial and error to figure out how to lay it all out, but I got there.

After the flip flops were laid out I cut the foam into a wreath shape and started attaching the flip flops to it. I used hot glue which worked well, at first. It held the flip flops to the foam really well until it came into contact with the harsh Florida heat. I ended up having to use a different glue to hold it together so that I could hang it on my front door. So definitely keep that in mind if you plan to put this outside.

I finished off the wreath with some ribbon, tulle, and a big orange flower that I already had on hand. The best part? The whole thing cost me less than $7 to make and only around 30 minutes total.
