“The Plan”

You may have noticed my posts about lack of motivation recently. This isn’t something new for me as it seems to happen every couple of months or so. It is usually caused by something specific, but I’m usually not able to pick it out until months after the fact. Anyway… I decided to make myself a weekly schedule. I need a plan to follow when I need to get myself motivated. Just like I need to-do lists when I really need to get things done. I guess I’m just a list kind of gal. Here’s what I came up with:

As you can see, there were three things on the schedule for Monday – Craft, Go to the dog park, and do a blog post. Sounds simple enough right? So how did I do on my first day on “the plan” you ask? Pretty darn good!

Not only did I do a blog post yesterday, I also scheduled one for Wednesday. I also wrote the one that you are currently reading. Sounds pretty productive to me.

When I got home from work I hurried up and changed my clothes and took Pepper to the dog park. She only lasted about 20 minutes, since we hadn’t been there in a long time, but she had a blast. After coming home and eating dinner she proceeded to pass out and be a lazy bum for the rest of the evening.

For the crafting part of “the plan” I had originally planned on sewing. I picked up the supplies I needed on Sunday to work on a project that had been on my to-do list for awhile. But when I got home today and received a super awesome Owl card (the owl is actually a bookmark!) from my bestie, it inspired me to head into the Craft Cave and make something with paper instead.

One of my goals for this year was to make and send more handmade cards. I used to do this for EVERY birthday and holiday, but during all the crap from the divorce I lost a lot of my drive to do that. Since “craft” was on the schedule for yesterday I decided to make a couple cards for upcoming birthdays. You don’t get to see them in their entirety yet because I won’t be sending them for a couple of weeks.

So there you have it! Day #1 of “The Plan” went REALLY well. I even had enough time at the end of my evening to start on book #3 for this week. Tee hee. At least I know what I’ll be reading for the “Read – 30 pgs” portion of “The Plan” for Tuesday!
