The 1st Meet + Make of 2015

Last week was the first Meet + Make event of 2015. If you don’t know, Meet + Make is a super fun crafty night hosted by Sarah Hearts at our local West Elm store. Its a 2 hour event with tasty snacks, awesome swag bags, and a fun craft project. Its a great night out with the girls and something that I always look forward to.

The treats for this event included quiches made by Sarah, sweet treats from one of the head bakers at the 4 Rivers Sweet Shoppe, and tasty juices from Natalie’s OJ. I gathered a few snacks to eat before I got crafty. You need energy for crafts – its hard work!

For this Meet + Make we were making hand painted glasses. Everyone got 4 glasses to paint and all the materials were supplied, including personalized monogram stencils. Since we only had two hours to paint the glasses I decided to do only 2 designs, so I’d have 2 of each design. I decided to do two with an M and polka dots and two with stripes. I think the hardest thing was getting the monogram stencil on the glasses.

I was pretty happy with how my glasses turned out. I’ve got to let them sit for a few days and then I have to bake them to make sure the paint sticks and they are safe to drink from. I used mostly aqua and white paint so that they would match my kitchen and dining room.

As always I enjoyed spending the evening with my friends eating tasty treats and being crafty. Its just 2 hours together being silly and having fun! Even the least crafty of folks are able to have a good time and make something fun to take home. This evening included lots of drinking jokes and comments since we were painting glasses. If only we’d had something fun to put in them while we painted!

Thanks to Sarah and all the amazing sponsors for another amazing event – I can’t wait for the next Meet + Make. I wonder what we will get to make next?
