Palentine’s Day? Galentine’s Day?

A lot of people cringe when the Valentine’s Day stuff starts showing up in stores. I think this year it was starting to sneak out before New Years had even come and gone. If you are single it just enhances the hatred of the dreaded pink and red holiday. Fortunately I see Valentine’s Day a little differently. Valentine’s Day isn’t about being in love or having a significant other, it is about LOVE and showing those around you that you love them. It can be family, friends, your best gal-pal, or even your pets.

So this year I’m going I’m going to focus on what some people are starting to call Palentine’s/Galentine’s Day – the day for showing your friends that you love them. Here’s a list of fun ideas that involve dates, fancy dinners, overpriced flowers, or a significant other.

A local beer join in town has been hosting Galentine’s Day, on the day before Valentine’s Day, for 4 years now. The 3 hour event includes $2 off glasses of wine and champagne, Buttermilk Bakery serving sweet and savory treats, and some of their favorite female vendors selling their goodies. I will be heading there myself this year with some of my favorite ladies to celebrate and indulge in some bubbly.

5. Girls Day out at Just Blow It

Blowout bars have finally made it to Florida! Last week I was able to try out one, Just Blow It, for the very first time. I really didn’t understand the draw of these places until I walked in and took a seat. Just Blow It is the kind of place where you feel right at home for the minute you walk in. The front of the shop is a little boutique with super cute items, they offer you wine and cupcakes, and the place is just super cute. Add in a staff that is super friend and love what they do and you will never want to leave! Treat yourself, or your pals, to a blowout and makeup before heading to dinner. Or just buy yourself a blowout package and call it a day. Whatever you decide on, make sure to check them out!

So there ya have it – some super fun ideas for how to spend your Palentine’s/Galentine’s Day this year! What will YOU be doing this year?
