So I am the WORST about cross training. I’ve never really been an athletic person, so the fact that I even run is an amazing feat. So when it comes to getting out there and doing OTHER things I’m just no good. My go-to cross training activity is yoga. I enjoy it and I can do it in the privacy of my own living room. But every once in awhile I want to venture out and practice with others. So I was excited when I found out about an upcoming yoga event.
Daytona Beach’s newest Tex-Mex restaurant, Cocina 214, is inviting Central Florida locals and tourists to join them for the restaurant’s first ever Yoga and Tacos event this month. YOGA AND TACOS!?! I swear they came up with this event with me in mind. And how can you go wrong with THIS for your yoga view?
The oceanfront restaurant, which opened its doors along Atlantic Avenue earlier this year, is inviting Soraya Sanchez from Daytona Anahata Yoga to lead the class on its back lawn overlooking the ocean. The class is from 10-11 a.m. and then participants are invited to relax with a complimentary mimosa with the purchase of one of Cocina’s signature entrées, whether it be their mouthwatering huevos rancheros for brunch lovers, or Cocina’s signature rotisserie chicken tacos.
One of the best parts about this event is that it is FREE! You heard me, free. The event takes place before the restaurant opens for the day so you don’t have to worry about a room full of brunchers looking at your tush during downward dog. Or laughing their heads off when you attempt crow pose and land on your face. You can just enjoy an hour of seaside yoga to start your day. And then maybe follow that up with a mimosa and some delicious food.
When: Sunday, August 12
Time: 10 am – 11 am
Where: Cocina 214 – Daytona Beach: 451 S. Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida 32118
Some friends and I will be taking a trip over to Daytona to get our Sunday Funday off to a great start with some yoga, mimosas, and brunch. Will I see you there?
