It has been 1 week since I finished Whole30 and things are still going great. My plan was to stick with Whole30 meals for breakfast and lunch every day, and then kinda play dinner by ear. So how is it going?
Well my first day off Whole30 I had compliant meals for breakfast and lunch, then treated myself to tacos and margaritas for dinner. I mean, it WAS Taco Tuesday. I stayed away from dairy because I didn’t want to go overboard. I limited myself to two tacos and two margaritas. How’d I feel afterwards? Actually, pretty good. No tummy issues at all.
I had Whole30 meals for every meal for the rest of the week other than Friday night. I was in the habit of cooking so I just stuck with it. It was actually easier to just keep cooking than to figure something else out.
I spent the weekend in Tampa with my best friend and I knew that I wouldn’t be eating Whole30, so I started off with a hearty Whole30 breakfast on Saturday before I went over. I pretty much spent the next 24 hours eating completely non-compliant meals… and I could feel it. I woke up around 3 am Sunday and my stomach was bothering me a bit. I had lunch on Sunday before I left and about halfway home my stomach wasn’t happy again.
So was it worth it? Yes. Even though my 24 hour food adventure left my tummy a little unhappy, it was worth it to enjoy some tasty food and drink with my bestie who I don’t get to see nearly often enough.
Before I left Tampa I stopped by a local market to pick up and fresh veggies and fruit for the week. With a busy week of work coming up I wanted to make sure I had some things on hand for healthy meals. When I got home the first thing I did was making dinner/lunch for Monday. I’m excited to get back on track for this week. Hooray healthy eats!
