The three elements of The Sound of Your Stay create an unparalleled, authentic, hands-on experience, allowing guests to channel their inner star – whether setting the mood with free playlists and music streaming, nailing power chords on a Fender guitar during an in-room jam session or matching beats and remixing like a professional DJ.
tracks® is Hard Rock’s complimentary music download program providing guests with the chance to download playlists exclusively curated by some of the biggest names in the music industry. At check-in, visitors receive a code to download a special playlist, curated by Hard Rock’s team of music experts and partnerships with global music labels, artists and brands.
picks® is a Fender guitar room service program, exclusively for Hard Rock Hotel guests. Visitors of the hotel call down to the front desk and choose from an enticing menu of 20 Fender guitars, including Stratocasters, Telecasters and even basses to play during their stay.
mix® is the latest component to the brand’s music amenity program, offering guests the chance to be a part of the EDM movement and mix like the pros in the comfort of their rooms.
Recently I was able to check out some of what makes The Amplified Package and The Sound of Your Stay such an amazing program. I visited the Hard Rock Hotel Orlando with some fellow locals (and non-locals) to experience the picks and mix portions of The Sound of Your Stay. After enjoying some of the amazing food and drink available at HRH Orlando we got a private, well as private as it can be when you are in the middle of the hotel lobby, DJ training session from two of the DJs from Scratch DJ Academy in Miami. Scratch DJ Academy was started by Jam Master J of Run DMC.
After learning a bit about what it takes to become a DJ we were each able to try our hand at the ones and twos. I feel like I looked like a complete idiot, but it was so much fun. How do you get to do this if you are a guest? Simply call the front desk for in-room delivery, and choose from one of several Native Instrument mixing systems. In addition, use of an iPad is included to experience the next wave of mixing technology, as well video lessons to assists guests who have yet to try their hand at spinning.
Next us was a guitar lesson from one of HRH Orlando’s resident musicians on a set of BRAND NEW Fender guitars. I’ve never been much of a musician myself, but this was my favorite part of the evening. Playing a guitar is hard work, but when you have a beautiful instrument and a great teacher it is a lot of fun. Fender even gave away one of the acoustic guitars that night. How cool is that? If you are staying at the hotel, the guitar is delivered to the room, complete with a Mustang Floor Amplifier and Blue Mo-Fi headphones – allowing for a high-volume jam out session with zero noise complaints. I could totally see myself jumping around on the bed pretending I was Eddie Van Halen!
Our evening ended with a short tour of some of the fabulous memorabilia that is found all around HRH Orlando. Did you know the Hard Rock International is headquartered in Orlando and they have a “vault” full of all the Hard Rock memorabilia? Well they are, and they do! All the memorabilia that ends up in the HRH hotels and cafes all around the world start out in the vault here in Orlando. What does this mean for Orlando? It means our hotel and cafe always have the best collections since its housed right in their backyard.
