When I was in high school my mom put together a family cookbook. It was full of recipes from both sides of the family that were everyone’s favorite. She made copies for everyone and I use mine all the time. It is full of holiday dishes, Christmas cookies, desserts, party food, and everyday dishes.
I decided to take Fridays to share some of my favorite family recipes with you. Today I’m going to start with an easy crowd pleaser perfect for any party, movie night, game day, or girls night. This easy taco ball dip has only 5 ingredients and can be made in less than 10 minutes. Sounds too good to be true right? Not at all!
Taco Ball
1 8 oz cream cheese
1 package taco seasoning (full package will make it quite spicy, so season to taste)
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 mayonnaise
shredded cheddar cheese
MIX all ingredients except cheddar cheese with mixer.
*I put in half a package of taco season and then give it a taste. Then you can decide if you need/want to add more seasoning.
FORM into a ball.
*If you are taking the taco ball to-go, then you could put put the dip in a pretty bowl and top with the cheese.
COVER ball in cheddar cheese.
Cover and REFRIGERATE (for an hour if you have the time).
Serve with tortilla chips or Doritos.
*We always serve with Doritos! They are tastier and a little stronger than tortilla chips, so it makes it easier to scoop up the taco ball.
Just be careful if you make this… once you make it your friends and family will start demanding that you always make it. You won’t be able to go to a party or have people over without making sure there is a taco ball there. Thank goodness it is easy right?
