Best Damn Race is coming to Orlando and I couldn’t be more excited!!

Earlier this year I traveled down to Safety Harbor, FL to participate in the Best Damn Race 10k. Great location, great course, and great host hotel. It was an all around awesome experience (especially for a 1st year race) and you can read all about it here. I signed up for BDR 2014 as soon as registration was available and decided to go with the 1/2 marathon this time.

So when I heard from a little birdie that BDR might be coming to Orlando in 2014 I was super excited. I’ve been waiting for months for the details to be hammered out and the announcement to be officially made. Well yesterday was finally the big day! Exactly one month after BDR in Safety Harbor they will be coming to Orlando. Mark 3/1/14 on your calendar – you will thank me!

There are multiple things that I love about this race…

You can run a 5k, 10k, 1/2 marathon, or the 5k + 10k challenge. And each race distance has its very own medal.

If you run the 1/2 marathon in Safety Harbor AND Orlando you get a special medal (which works out to THREE medals!) Definitely good motivation to get the Safety Harbor folks to drive on over to Orlando. Come on, you know you wanna see the HUGE swans at Lake Eola.

They have a super awesome pay scale where each race starts at only $1! After a certain number of people register the price goes up. But you can get into the 1/2 marathon for just $1! Even if you have to pay full price it is still a great deal.

If you register during the first two days that registration is open you get free race photos. Like ALL of them. All your wonderful, or not so wonderful, photos in digital format to share with your friends and family. If it isn’t on Facebook it didn’t really happen right?

And don’t forget about all the freebies – goodie bags, t-shirts, finisher medals, health & fitness expo, pizza, beer, and even massages!

So yeah, if you are in Orlando (or anywhere else for that matter) definitely give Best Damn Race – Orlando a look. March in Florida is a great time to race and this will be a nice course to run. Registration starts at noon on November 1st! Make sure to set a reminder in Outlook so that you can register early to get a super awesome price AND free race photos.
