Wish You Were Here – Its time to go! #FloridaWish

Tomorrow my mom and I will head down to the Residence Inn Miami Airport for our weekend of fun! I’ve really been looking forward to this and we are treating it as an early birthday trip (my birthday is Wednesday). I love that we are going to be bringing the dogs along on our great adventure!

We haven’t decided for sure what we are going to do, but we do have a few things on our list of ideas.

First up is Haulover Park. Its a 1.4 mile beach park that has a dog park AND a dog friendly section of the beach. Neither of our dogs have been to the beach before so we are looking forward to taking them. There is even a clothing optional section of the beach, but I don’t think we’ll be visiting that this trip (tee hee).

When I found out that there was a Shake Shack in Miami I immediately added it to my wish list for this trip. I think I’ve talked my mom into at least stopping by for a milk shake.

I also plan on spending some time by the pool reading. It wouldn’t be a birthday trip without some time by the pool. My new Kindle (thanks Pop-pop) arrived in the mail this week and its all ready for its inaugural trip to the pool! Now I just have to figure out which book to read.

I love that other than where we are staying we really don’t have a “plan” for this trip. I’m a planner at heart and its hard for me to not plan every aspect of a trip, but sometimes its just nice. I’m looking forward to just playing it by ear and enjoying time with our pups.
