A few weeks ago I got to enjoy a super relaxing Sunday at the Hyatt Regency Orlando with some of my blogging buddies. I’ve stayed there twice now but hadn’t had a chance to check out their fitness center or the spa, but this time I got to try out both.
Their fitness center has everything you could possibly want or need. Usually, in my experience, hotels have just enough to cover the bases but not TONS. Hyatt Regency has it all! And its even broken up a bit so that if you are running on the treadmill you don’t have to watch people lift weights and feel like a wimp. In addition to all the cardio equipment, weights and machines, they also have a studio where they offer classes.
Overlooking the Grotto Pool, their fitness center offers a total health and wellness experience, with easy access to The Spa for a seamless, speedy transition from workout to wind down. They have a Spacious 500-square-foot studio for spinning and group exercise, Two cardio studios and separate strength conditioning and core strength rooms, An outdoor tennis court, and over 50 pieces of Cybex Eagle strength equipment and machines including ARC trainers.
On Wednesday evenings they offer Wine & Align Yoga. You can unwind with a gentle flow Yoga session, perfect for beginners and Yogis alike, and mingle after class with a complimentary wine tasting. Fitness Classes are complimentary for hotel guests and just $12 drop-in rate for locals. How cool is that?
On our visit we had an hour long class with their yoga instructor Anne. She is used to having all types of Yogis in her classes and they really are perfect for anyone. It was so nice getting the day started off with a nice and relaxing yoga class.
After class we were treated to some spa treatments. I immediately knew I wanted the hour long massage. Everything had been hurting lately and with some big races coming up I knew my body could use it. My masseuse was AMAZING! She knew just had to work with runners and rubbed out every knot I had. She was able to be firm without making me want to jump off the table. I did have a few “it hurts so good” moments, but those were quite all right.
After our spa treatments we headed to the pool to enjoy lunch from Coconuts Bar & Grill in our private cabana. I’m lucky enough to have enjoyed this luxury before, but it was so fun seeing everyone else enjoying it for the first time. I ordered the Shrimp Popper Wrap and it was just what I needed on a hot Florida afternoon. It just felt like what I SHOULD be eating poolside.
The rest of the afternoon was spent enjoying some cocktails, taking a dip in the pool, and taking a couple of trips down the slide. Sunday Funday is not complete without a trip or two down the slide.
Sundays tend to be one of the “meh” days for me. It is still the weekend but its also the day before Monday, which means heading back to work. This was definitely the perfect way to wind down the weekend and get ready for a busy work week ahead. Thanks Hyatt Regency Orlando for an amazing day!
