I am very happy to announce that I will be kicking off the Christmas season in style on a Springhill “Sweets” D.C. Media tour next week! I’ve never been to DC before and I’m really looking forward to doing it in sweet style.
SpringHill Suites Marriott offers more than 300 hotels in the U.S. and Canada, designed to provide both business and leisure travelers more from every trip. SpringHill Suites guests can expect modern amenities, stylish spaces and signature “little extras” that add up to big, long-lasting impressions. A fresh lively take on mixing business with pleasure, our hotels welcome travelers with polished lobbies, hotel bars with inviting communal seating, causal outdoor spaces and fireside lounge areas. Guests can grab a glass of wine, regional brew or tasty snack like their Chicken, Havarti and Apple Flatbread and chat with new friends in a relaxing yet sophisticated setting. For some fresh air, spill outside and warm up and wind down at our fire pits with pool views and hot tubs.
SpringHill Suites Marriott recently announced a new relationship with CakeLove, a renowned DC bakery whipping-up signature “CakeLove in a Jar.” This collaboration is an example of how the SpringHill Suites brand is catering to modern business and leisure travelers by providing signature “little extras” with every stay.
“Our goal at SpringHill Suites is to surprise and delight guests by offering a little extra,” said Loren Nalewanski, vice president global brand management, SpringHill Suites. “We believe a series of small, special touches throughout our guests stay add-up to big long-lasting impressions, ensuring every guest has a fond memory to take home.”
All throughout the country, SpringHill Suites’ are offering customers a little extra taste of the community. CakeLove, the all-natural cake and cream cheese frosting in a resalable jar is a local DC favorite. The decedent desert is available in the SpringHill Suites’ 24-hour market at five hotels in the DC metro area including SpringHill Suites Annapolis, Alexandria Old Town, Gaithersburg, Potomac Mills and Baltimore Washington International Airport.
As the newest addition to the SpringHill Suites’ series of “little extras”, CakeLove joins premier bath and spa products by Paul Mitchell, treats such as Chupa-Chup Lollipops, wine by The Infinite Monkey Theorem and other “suite surprises” for guests.
I will be staying at SpringHill Suites in Alexandria Old Town and experiencing so much of what DC has to offer. Our itinerary included a hands-on baking session with Warren Brown, founder of DC’s CakeLove, a “Salty & Sweet” Dining Experience, a night out on the town, Sculpture Garden Ice Skating, a stop at Poste Moderne Brasserie, a visit to DC’s “street art” gallery – The Fridge, and lunch at Old Engine 12 Firehouse. It is going to be a fun filled two days and I can’t wait!
SpringHill Suites offers a great fitness center that I was fully planning on using until I realized how WONDERFUL the weather was going to be. How can I run inside on a treadmill when there are so many beautiful nearby parks to check out? Hopefully I can squeeze in an outside run, but if I can’t at least I know I have the fitness center as a back up.
I promise to report back after my trip! I’m looking forward to a couple days of “cold” weather to really get me in the holiday spirit.
