Over the last year of running I’ve realized that when I get upset or frustrated about something, the best thing for me to do is run. I think I end up pushing myself a little too hard in these situations, but I end up feeling much better afterwards. I’m just able to push the crap that is upsetting me out. So this morning I decided to run out some of the stuff that was bothering me. Not only did I get an almost 2 mile run in, I did it at a sub-12:00 min pace. I know that isn’t super impressive to some people, but to me it was super awesome.
While I was running today I was thinking about my upcoming 1/2 marathon in Savannah (I can’t believe it is just 10 days away!). I’ve been running a lot lately and I’m feeling a little better about things, but not great. So I decided to go ahead and register for a 5k that’s on Saturday right up the street from my house. It’s the Dash for Dogs 5k that benefits Pet Rescue by Judy. They are even having a 1 mile “dog dash” after the 5k. I’m not going to bring my woofer (cause she is a nutcase) but I am going to use the race as an excuse to bust out some of my Halloween gear.

know where you’re coming from with the running getting rid of frustrations. I now find when I can’t run my mind just starts to go all over the place and the crazy takes over. Don’t know if its the fresh air, the focus or the act of feet pounding the street but something helps.
Have great time at dash for dogs – sounds awesome!!
