Guess what? Marlow’s Tavern has opened a new location in Waterford Lakes!
Marlow’s Tavern is designed with guests’ comfort in mind. The decor is timeless, with an innovative atmosphere and unique features, such as contemporary lighting combined with Chicago brick and rich appointments. The restaurant is warm and inviting with dark wood accents, large leather booths and communal tables for a timeless look and feel.
As a longtime Orlando resident and local restaurant industry veteran with decades of experience, Alan Palmieri, knows that Marlow’s Tavern is a perfect fit for the East Orlando community. Palmieri is responsible for the day-to-day operations and future development of the Orlando market. Palmieri opened the first Marlow’s Tavern in Florida in 2012 with additional locations at Pointe Orlando and in Winter Park.
“Each Orlando neighborhood is so unique,” says Executive Chef and Co-founder John C. Metz. “Alan’s local perspective, community relationships, commitment to quality and strong affiliation with values in which we believe are important factors to operate a successful restaurant within the Waterford Lakes Town Center.”
The restaurant will feature the “best of the best” in classic American tavern fare served in a modern atmosphere. Menus offer a diverse combination of classic dishes that are updated and elevated to a higher level. But Marlow’s Tavern really IS a neighborhood tavern. You will notice when you walk in the front door that they don’t list a closing time. Management closes each evening when they feel its time. How cool is that?
The beverage menu includes a wide variety of wines from around the world, all available by the glass, and a handcrafted cocktail menu that combines fresh juices and specialty, small batch liquors in an innovative and approachable way. The beer list is unique and varied, featuring local favorites, craft and import offerings by the bottle and on draft.
Marlow’s Tavern Waterford Lakes has some good specials too! They have a daily Happy Hour from 4 to 7 p.m. – $3 Domestic Drafts, $4 Glasses of Select Wines, and $4 Premium Wells. They also have Girls Night Out Specials on Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to Close – $5 Martini and Appetizer Specials.
In every community Marlow’s Tavern serves, it partners with local neighborhood associations and charities to support and give back to the people who have generously supported the local tavern and staff. Marlow’s Tavern Waterford Lakes evokes a sense of community through its continued partnership with non-profit organizations such as the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. Guest donations from the pre-opening events totaled more than $4,800. This translates to more than $39,000 worth of grocery product that the Food Bank will be able to provide to neighbors in need.
I was able to attend a Media & Blogger event at the new location and we excited to enjoy some of my favorite dishes and try a few new ones. It was a hot “summer” evening in Florida but we enjoyed a nice night out on the patio thanks to a little bit of a breeze and some well placed misting fans.
I have to say that my favorites of the night were Tommy’s Favorite Sangria, the Shrimp and Crab “nachos,” and the Shrimp and Grits. I loved the shareable and small portions we were served that allowed us to try a number of items, but I totally could have gone for the full sized Shrimp and Grits entree. I definitely need to order that the next time I’m there.
So if you happen to be in the Waterford Lakes area (or Pointe Orlando or Winter Park), definitely check out Marlow’s Tavern – you won’t be disappointed!
