I will be completely honest and tell you that I’ve been searching for a holiday 5k to run since the summer. Why you ask? Because I found the most AMAZING holiday outfit at a thrift store and bought it KNOWING it would be great for a race. So when the opportunity to run the RDV Jingle Run 5k came up, I jumped at the chance. Holiday race AND it benefits the Boys & Girls Club? Score!
Since 1998, the RDV 5K has benefitted the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida’s Joe R. Lee Branch in Eatonville. Because of you and your support, $200,000 has been donated to help at-risk children in our community realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
Conveniently located in the heart of Maitland, every penny brought in stays local to help children in our community through the Boys & Girls Clubs in Eatonville. The 2019 race continues the tradition of giving to help inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
The race starts and ends at the RDV Sportsplex and includes a finisher medal, limited edition reindeer event shirt, hot chocolate, coffee and other snacks. The 5k is timed and the top male and female finishers receive a one year membership to RDV Sportsplex Athletic Club. They are also giving awards for the Largest Corporate Team and Most Festive Team.
The race takes place on Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 am. If you register before October 31 it is only $30 (then goes to $35 after that). And kids gets an even better deal! Kids 17 and under get $10 OFF if registered before Nov. 1!

I’m so excited to start putting together my outfit for this race. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and maybe it will actually be a little cool that day. How nice would it be to be sipping hot chocolate after a holiday race and not be melting. And the cool weather would definitely be a plus once you see my outfit. You know its got to be good when my momma is just as excited about it as I am.
