I was lucky enough to be able to “fill in” for a fellow blogger and attend a seasonal tasting at the newly redone Krispy Kreme in Winter Park. I hadn’t been in the store since they’d redone it and as soon as I heard “pumpkin doughnuts” I was more than ready for a visit. Andrea is a huge doughnut fan, so I dragged her along for the fun!
The store was updated to have a more modern feel and an overall better flow, and they did a great job. The front of the store is more open than it used to be and it feels a little more like a coffee shop that you would want to hang out in than a doughnut shop where you would just grab and go. All the tables are lined up along the since of the windows facing the doughnut kitchen so you can see all the tasty doughnuts being made. It doesn’t matter how old you are, watching the doughnuts make their way down to the waterfall of frosting is always cool.
We had a chance to try out their Pumpkin Spice and Pumpkin Cheesecake (filled) doughnuts. These are a seasonal special and only available until the end of November, so you only have a limited time to go try them out yourself.
I love all things pumpkin and loved both of these doughnuts, but the Pumpkin Spice was my favorite. I easily could have taken a dozen of these off their hands and eaten them all myself. Yum yum yum.
In addition to trying out the pumpkin doughnuts we also had a chance to dip and decorate some of our very own doughnuts. Not to brag, but I may have been offered a decorator job while I was there. The only problem was my speed. Oh well.
We also got a sneak peak at the holiday doughnuts that will be available in the store starting December 1st. Aren’t they just the cutest?
Thank you to the Winter Park Krispy Kreme and their amazing staff for a great time! I really enjoyed trying some new (to me at least) cupcakes and getting a chance to check out the new store. Next time you see the “Hot Doughnuts Now” sign lit up you should definitely stop in for a sweet treat.
