Living in Orlando gives you a lot of options for what to do on July 4th. I love getting out and about to celebrate, but sometimes I just need a little guidance on what is going on and when. I did a little research this year and here are a couple of fun things to do around Orlando that might interest you.
Watermelon 5k
Start your Independence Day the right way with a 5k in Winter Park with the annual Track Shack Watermelon 5k along Park Avenue! Join friends, family and neighbors for a morning celebration featuring ice cold watermelon and American pride. Military Personnel and family receive a $10 discount and a special bib! The run begins at 7:00am and is immediately followed by a watermelon eating contest that starts at 8:00am.
1st Annual Fourth of July celebration at Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate
Celebrating America’s birthday, Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate introduces the first annual Fourth of July celebration, offering families a new American tradition, from a good ole’ BBQ cookout and entertaining lawn concert to delicious frozen treats by the pool and spectacular firework finale.
