Since I moved into my house last September I’ve been looking for a Mid Century style Christmas wreath for the front door. I couldn’t really find anything I liked, before or after Christmas, so I decided to make my own. Since then I’ve been searching Pinterest for ideas. I found a lot that I liked, but it wasn’t until I came across one on Craft + Tell that I found one I loved.
Before Christmas this year I started gathering the supplies I needed to make the wreath. Instead of using a foam wreath form and garland I found a similar wreath at Target for just $8. Score! I picked up the ornaments at Hobby Lobby, the trees were actually ornaments from Target, and the reindeer came from my mom.
Unfortunately time got away from me and I never got around to actually making the wreath before Christmas. Since I had some time off around New Years I decided to go ahead and make the wreath so that I could put it away with the rest of my Christmas decorations when I took them down.
Putting the wreath together was super easy. The hardest part was making sure that everything stuck to the tinsel with the hot glue. I started out with the wreath on my craft table, but once the trees and reindeer were on I hung it up to put the ornaments on there. It was a little harder to glue stuff, but it was easier to place things where I wanted them. So all in all it worked out.
I love when Pinterest projects actually work out! I’m really glad that I came across this wreath and decided to make one of my own.
