I’ve held on to my race bibs from every race I’ve done over the last 3 years. I knew I wanted to keep them, but just wasn’t sure what to do with them. About a month ago I went to the craft store and decided that I was not going home until I had an idea and the supplies to make it happen.
Originally I wanted to make one of the wooden bib holders that you can find on Etsy. But then I started to over think it. What about the fact that all my race bibs aren’t the same size? If I used two sets of hooks, would that actually work out? I finally just threw that idea out the window and went in search of another idea.
Finally I landed in the art supply aisle looking at canvases when I came across these really cool burlap canvases. I bought one, some wooden letters, and some cute little white clothespins. My plan was to paint the letters and attach them and some ribbon to the canvas, then use the clothes pins to hold the bibs on.
I used a staple gun to attach the ribbon and since I positioned it high on the canvas I was also able to staple it two places on the front to give the ribbon some support. I hot glued the letters down the side and I was good to go. I picked colors that matched one of the medal racks in my room so that I could hang them together. TA-DA!
I put all the 5k bibs together on the right side and all the over 5k bibs on the left. So far they are staying put pretty good. I’m not sure how easy it would be to flip through and look at them, but at least they are up and where I can see them now.
