Yes, I realize it is only December 5th, but I still felt like I needed an update. I have run/walke 4 of the first 5 days of this month covering a total of 8 miles! The reason I didn’t run yesterday was because a gentleman with the title DOCTOR in front of his name told me not to. I kinda try and listen to those guys.
Anyway, today I ran a mile on my own before meeting up with a friend to cover another 2 miles walking. Since I have a 5k race on Sunday I knew that I needed to up the running I was doing this week so that I didn’t fall face first into the sand. Today’s run was just shy of a mile and it felt pretty darn good. And ya know what is the best part about my mile run? THIS!
That is right ladies and gentleman, my slow self ran at a 10’47” per mile pace today. Do you have any idea how awesome that is? Do you realize that if I could hold that for 3.1 miles on Sunday that I will PR that race? I would PR my first race back after an injury!
Now I know what you are thinking, don’t get ahead of yourself Meghan. And I’m not. I know there is a good chance that I could hold that pace for a mile or maybe even two, but three? HA HA HA HA. Now that is some funny stuff. As I mentioned before, I just want to make sure that I don’t land face first in the sand. Thankfully my friend that I’m running with on Sunday is a tad faster than me and has agreed not to let me drag ass too much. I told her that if she needs to drag me across that finish line by my hair she is totally allowed to. Hopefully that won’t happen because I’d end up with a KILLER case of road rash on my hinney.
