I love Christmas! I love the decorations, and the parties, and the gift giving, and the celebrating, and the lights. Man oh man do I love Christmas lights.
When I first bought my house I was super excited about the prospect of putting Christmas lights up outside. Unfortunately there is one thing I’m missing outside – power. With no outlets or other power sources on the outside of my house, I had no way to plug in any outside lights or decorations. Bummer.
I decided I would do the next best thing and put some lights in the big front windows that go from floor to ceiling on either side of my front door. These would show up great from the street and the plantation shutters on those windows would keep the light from coming into the living room if I didn’t want it.
Great idea right? Until I realized I had no idea how I was going to attach said lights to the inside of the window. This is where VELCRO Brand saved the day!
I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of the new VELCRO Brand holiday products which included their Removable Indoor Hanging Clips. VELCRO Brand removable clips are ideal for indoor holiday projects such as light strands or garland. Removable adhesive on the light clip allows a sturdy application and can be removed cleanly without damaging surfaces. Perfecto!
Each package comes with 20 clips and removable VELCRO Brand fastener. This was more than enough clips to do both of my large windows and have a few left over. I wanted to be able to open the windows, so I place the clips just to the inside of the window. I placed all of the VELCRO Brand fasteners to the wall first, then went back and securely adhered the clips before going back and putting up the lights. It was quick and easy!
Two weeks later and the lights haven’t budged and all of the clips are still in place. The great thing is that after Christmas I can either take off the clips and the VELCRO Brand fasteners all together, or just remove the clips and leave the VELCRO Brand fasteners for next year. The VELCRO Brand fasteners is clear so once the clips are off you can barely even see it. Plus since I have the shutters on the windows you can’t see it at all unless you get up close and personal with my windows.
