I’m always on the look out for fun cocktails to make around the holidays. I recently hosted a Mistletoe & Margaritas party and wanted to serve up something festive. In addition to traditional margaritas I wanted something to go with the holidays.
I did some research on Pinterest and found that Orange Cranberry margaritas were a thing. Sounds tasty right? Well I combined a couple recipes that I found and came up with one I liked. Then on the night of the party I was doing too many things at once and ended up pouring a bottle of beer into the pitcher of margaritas. Oops! Thankfully it was a great addition that gave them a little extra punch.
Orange Cranberry Margaritas
Makes 4-5 margaritas
8 oz tequila
8 oz cranberry juice
4 oz triple sec
4 oz orange juice
4 oz lime juice
1/4 cup of sugar
1 bottle of beer (I used Shipyard Blood Orange Belgian Ale)
Mix all ingredients (except the beer) together in a pitcher. I made mine the night before and put it in an empty gallon jug. This enabled me to give them a good shake every once in awhile.
The night of the party I put the margaritas in a pretty pitcher and topped it with the bottle of beer and fresh cranberries. When I served them I filled a glass with ice, poured in the margarita, and then topped it with cranberries and a slice of lime. Super tasty and festive!
