Buddy Fruits

So during my trip to Publix on Tuesday where I spotted the Chocolate Covered Key lime pie, I also came across Buddy Fruits. WTH are Buddy Fruits you ask? According to their website…

“Each of our squeezable fruit pouches is all natural and contains 100% pure fruit and nothing absolutely nothing else. Our flexible resealable pouches are ideal for lunchboxes, sports bags, pockets… No spoon, no mess, no waste. Buddy Fruits simplify your life and transform pure fruit into pure fun! We think that a delicious family recipe combined with an entertaining packaging is the best way to help our children eat fruits. We borrowed a concept invented by the NASA for the Astronauts : the lunch pack. What an amazing true story to share with our kids ! In this recipe, our commitment is to use 100% FRESH fruit, in order to create a natural recipe 100% good for you !”

I picked them up for a couple of reasons.

1. They were buy one get one free.

2. They were only $1 each (so 2 for $1)

3. They are only 60 calories, 0 g fat and a whole serving of fruit.

4. Since they have a screw on cap, you can stick it in the fridge if you don’t finish it. I don’t have kids, but I know that would be helpful if I did.

So, what did I think of these Buddy Fruits? So. Freaking. Awesome. They are tasty, oh so tasty. And you can stick them in your purse and not worry about them getting all beat up like if you threw on apple or banana in there. Yum yum.

You know what else is awesome? The folks at Buddy Fruits are giving as well! I contacted them after I got back from the store because I thought it would be a great thing to have at our fundraising walks for the kiddos. Something fun AND nutritious. So I sent them an email about us and our event and asked if they could help us out. In less than 2 hours they responded, offering up TWO HUNDRED pouches for our walk in December! TWO HUNDRED! Isn’t that amazing? So thank you Buddy Fruits for supporting us 🙂

They sound much more nutritious than chocolate-covered key lime pie slices…which, btw, they didn’t have at my lame-o Publix…not that I was looking for something like that…because I like fruit. 😛
