Friday Five: Halloween Cocktails

I love Halloween. Love it! I love the decorations, the candy, the costumes, and especially the festive Halloween themed drinks.

Since Halloween is on a Friday this year it just means we have TWO nights to get appropriately intoxicated while dressed up as our favorite super heros and not have to go to work the next day. In honor of this I decided to share some of my favorite Halloween cocktail recipes  from around the interwebs with you today.

1. Candy Corn Cocktail

from Hostess with the Mostess

2 oz. Pineapple Vodka
1.5 oz. Orange Sherbet, softened
1 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Milk
1 oz. Simple Syrup

Combine Pineapple vodka and pineapple juice in cocktail shaker with ice. Strain over fresh ice into a clear Collins glass. Combine softened orange sherbet and ice in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Strain, and pour over bar spoon to layer in the rocks glass. Then, combine simple syrup and milk in cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Layer milk mixture on top of sorbet mixture.

2. Witches Brew

from Latina.com

2 ¼ ounces Bacardi Light

2 ¼ ounces Meyers rum

1 ¼ ounces Bacardi 151

2 ½ ounces pineapple juice

2 ½ ounces orange juice

1 ¼ ounces sour mix

1 ¼ ounces grenadine

Fill glass completely with ice and all ingredients. Stir the drink until all the ingredients are combined (it should be a pinkish-red color). Throw in a handful of gummi worms and the appropriate amount of silly straws needed.

3. Sinister Cider Cocktail

from Martha Stewart

1/2 lime, cut into wedges
1 ounce maple syrup
1 ounce apple cider
2 ounces vodka
Ice
Club soda
1 thin crosswise slice lady apple, for garnish

Moisten the rim of a martini glass with water. Place sanding sugar in a saucer and dip rim of glass in sanding sugar to coat; set aside. In a cocktail shaker, muddle together apple cubes and lime wedges. Add syrup, cider, and vodka; fill with ice. Cover and shake until well combined. Strain into prepared martini glass; top with club soda. Garnish with apple slice and serve.

4. Body Part Jello Shots

from Hostess with the Mostess

Halloween BITES: Creepy Jigglers/Shooters

1.5 cups boiling water
1 cups vodka
2 (8-oz) pkg. JELL-O Gelatin, any flavor

STIR boiling water into dry gelatin mix in large bowl at least 3 min. until completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool for a 3-5 minutes, then add vodka. Pour into 13×9-inch pan. Let mixture cool to room temperature, then add gummy candies. (Use a spoon to help guide gummies into the spot you want them, if desired.)

REFRIGERATE at least 3 hours or until firm.

DIP bottom of pan in warm water 15 sec. Cut jigglers into squares, making sure to cut all the way through gelatin to bottom of pan. Lift  from pan. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

**You could also do this in silicone ice cube molds and skip the cutting!

5. The Creepy Crawler

from Shape magazine
