So what is Minted.com you ask?
Well, Minted is a kick-ass design marketplace. They source creative content from a global community of independent artists, then sell the best content in the form of art, home décor, and stationery, directly to consumers. An early pioneer of crowdsourcing, Minted has held art and design challenges monthly since April 2008. Challenges are open for both submission and voting, the ‘crowd’ curates Minted’s product selection by rating products, and Minted utilizes analytics to evaluate votes.
Their core competencies are mobilizing and activating creative people, and enabling them to monetize their art by identifying the industries and products where their art is most interesting to consumers. Minted produces and sells winning designs, paying the designer a commission on every sale. In addition, winning artists and designers have stores on Minted. They can launch any of their creations into their stores, utilizing Minted’s manufacturing, fulfillment, and customer service capabilities to run their businesses.
Minted’s community of independent artists and designers are located in 48 states and 43 countries. They are illustrators and textile designers, painters and packaging designers, marketers and stay-at-home moms. Some have design degrees, and others are participating in Minted competitions to learn design for the first time. They share a deep love for creative expression, personal development, risk-taking, and most importantly, paying it forward by helping each other.
The short story: Minted makes it easy for creative people to sell their products and for the rest of us to buy it.
They have stationery, planners, calendars, art prints, fabrics, party decor, & home decor. So. Many. Options. If you are like me and don’t know where to start, try searching for something you like…. like cupcakes! 91 items came up! Art prints, cards, invitations, ENTIRE party lines, and even cupcake cupcake toppers. And of course since this is all done by independent designers tons of items can be personalized.
After my cupcake search I made the mistake of typing DOG into that tiny little search box at the top. 111 results this time! Oh my heavens, this could be dangerous. I must admit that one of my favorite things on the site was the selection of custom holiday cards. Couldn’t you just see Pepper on this holiday card?? Don’t be surprised if you find a card like this in your mailbox this December.
And if that wasn’t enough cool stuff for one site, I stumbled on their Custom Art Prints. Oh holy heck! The Florida Love Location immediately caught my eye. Can I just order everything on the site?
In addition to all that, Minted has a new collection of Wedding Invitations. I don’t have any wedding plans in the immediate future, but I’ll definitely be pinning this for later. I mean they have 179 orange invitations. How could I go wrong with those kinds of odds?
I’m really glad that you can FAVORITE things on their site because about every 2 minutes I was going “OOOOOHHH! I want that!” or “I love that!” At least I can go back through my list later to weed things out and hopefully not empty out my bank account in one sitting. I just think this site is a super cool place to buy some neat items from independent designers. I promise to let you all know what I end up ordering!
And guess what else? The fine folks at Minted have given me a $50 gift certificate to give give away to one lucky winner! Just enter below on the rafflecopter. You have until March 11th to enter!
*Disclosure: I was given a store credit by Minted.com in exchange for this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
