Recently I found out that someone I’d rather not read my blog, is in fact reading it. Yes, I understand that my blog is public and anyone can and (potentially) will read it. But that is different than actually knowing that they are reading it.
At first it made me feel like I couldn’t say what I wanted on my own blog anymore. Like I had to filter things. It pissed me off.
But then I was reminded that this blog is for ME. I was reminded that “Even if you had 1 reader or 1 million. You can still post whatever you want, as long as you like it and its true to yourself, then no one can say anything.” Damn straight. See, this is why everyone needs to have a bestie as great as mine. And no, you cannot have her.
I guess I just needed a gentle kick in the pants huh?
I started this blog to help me through a very difficult time in my life. A difficult time that I am still fighting to recover from day after day. I have good days and I have bad days. This blog gives me a chance to vent, or brag, or share projects, or photos, or recipes. It gives me a chance to hash out the details of everyday like and make sense of them. Some days it works and other days it doesn’t, but for the most part it is doing it’s job.
That being said, I will NOT be censoring my posts. I will not be worrying about WHO might be reading them. I WILL continue to use this blog for myself to entertain the masses… all 32 of you 🙂
as one of the 32 – keep writing, venting, photographing. Don’t worry about who is reading it or what they might think… they are clearly more interested in you than you are in them, so just disregard them and stay true to you!!
Thank you so much Sharon 🙂 You comment is just what I needed this morning!
