I was very excited when I found out that Nothin’ But was going to send me some of their snack bars and granola cookies to review for the blog. They looked so yummy and I couldn’t wait to try them out!
Nothin’ But was started in 2008 by Jerri Graham when she was sick of only finding snack bars that either didn’t taste very good or were full of not good stuff. Jerri started out just making her own bars for family and friends. But then she met her partner Steven Laitmon and Nothin’ But was born. Now you can find her snack bars and granola cookies in stores around the country and in their online store.
Jerri sent me 4 of their snack bars and two bags of their granola cookies. One of the first things I did when I got them was go online to see if I could get them anywhere local. Nope. So I checked their online store for pricing. At first I was shocked at the price – $15 for 4 2.7 oz bars ($3.75 each). But then I did a little comparison with one of my current favorite snack bars, Kind bars. Kind bars run around $1.56 each and are 1.6 oz. Doing a little simple math I figured out that a Kind bar the same size as a Nothin’ But bar would run around $2.53. This still makes Nothin’ But bars more expensive, but not as bad as I had originally thought.
These bars are amazing! I was so impressed with how tasty they were. The bars were filling, but not to heavy. I also liked that they were just the right amount of sweet. I usually get a craving for sweets in the afternoon and this kept me from eating a candy bar or a handfull of high calorie cookies.
I was a big fan of the all natural ingredients in the bars and cookies. I love when I can actually read and pronounce all the ingredients in the foods that I eat. I know I can’t cut completely cut pre-packaged foods out of my diet, but at least I can feel better about the some of the ones I leave in it. It’s probably a good thing that I can’t currently walk into my local grocery store and buy these otherwise I may be eating them every day. If you can get your hands on some of these, I would greatly recommend doing so.
