When it comes to brunch, my first choice has been Outpost Kitchen, Bar, & Provisions for a long time now. I started going there when they used to be in College Park. Before the pandemic started they announced that they would be moving to a brand new location in Maitland. I was pretty happy with this move as it would put them within an 8-minute drive of my house. Score! As we all know, the start of the pandemic was hard for everyone, especially small local businesses. And DEFINITELY for a small local business that was trying to build and move to a new location. When they finally announced that they would be opening I was ecstatic!

Outpost is ‘where the good ‘ol days and modern comforts collide into family recipes, twisted classics, and fresh, scratch food.’ Their menu includes old family recipes and twisted classics. They have a full bar featuring craft beers, wine, and Prohibition-style cocktails. They serve lunch (FINALLY!) and dinner Wednesday through Sunday, with brunch being served on Saturday and Sunday.
They also have a daily Happy Hour from 3-6:30 pm with $3 off small plates, beer, wine, cocktails, AND $1 oysters. My suggestion is to order the small plates so that you can try out a few different things. The small plates can easily cover you for a meal and still leave room to try out some cocktails, or even dessert. My favorite small plate is the Crispy Brussels. If you like brussels even the tiniest bit, you NEED to try this dish. The brussels and perfectly crisp and the sauce that is on them is out of this world.

Their bottomless brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. You can enjoy bottomless mimosas (4 different flavors), Bloody Mary, red sangria, and draft lager beer if you so choose. Oh, and you can totally switch it up if you want.
My all-time favorite dish to order for brunch is the Shrimp and Grits. I’m a southern girl and their take on this dish is amazing! It has white Gulf shrimp, cheesy grits, shishito salsa verde, creole butter pan sauce, and chorizo pepperoni. You can’t go wrong with this dish, but just about anything on the brunch (or lunch, or dinner) menu will have you leaving a happy, and full, camper. On my latest visit, I finally tried the chicken and waffles. Oh. My. Yum. It was delicious and I was happy that I finally strayed from my go-to dish.

And if you ever actually get around to ordering dessert, which is hard because it is SO easy to fill up on small plates and main courses, you have to try out the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding. I’ve never been a huge bread pudding fan, but I’d gladly pass up some crispy brussels to enjoy this dessert.
Owners Kevin and Julie Casey run a tight ship and a fabulous local restaurant. They can always be seen around the restaurant and will probably pop by to say hello. I have to admit that I love that they know their regulars and make an effort to make them feel appreciated. It is just another reason why I love supporting this local restaurant. Good food, good drinks, and good people make it a fabulous place to be!
