Local Love: Creative Cocktails in Orlando

Craft beer is usually at the top of my list for happy hour, but I love a good cocktail as much as the next girl. Sometimes you just want to sit down with a craft cocktail and enjoy the overall experience. Here in Orlando, we have a lot of options for cocktails, so today I’m sharing some of my favorite spots for creative cocktails.

The Neighbors
3201 Corrine Drive STE 201, Orlando, FL 32803
Wednesday – Saturday 12 pm – 10 pm, Sunday – Monday 12 pm – 9 pm
Happy hour: All Day Monday, Wednesday – Friday 12 – 5 pm, Saturday 6 – 9 pm

The Neighbors is the collaborative brainchild of the folks behind Freehand Goods, DOMU & Market owner, John Rife. The purpose of this creative space is to continue East End’s mission as a small business incubator for the Orlando community. Pairing local artisans with an approachable cocktail program & an experimental food kitchen, along with a super cute shop full of local and “Florida” items. You can’t go wrong with craft cocktails and shopping!

The Guesthouse
1321 Mills Ave. N., Orlando, FL 32803
Monday-Friday 4 pm – 2 am, Saturday & Sunday 12 pm-2 am
Happy hour: Daily 4-8 pm

The Guesthouse serves up a great selection of craft cocktails, wine, and beer. It is a rather large space but tends to be quite packed on the weekends. No worries though, you can always head outside and sit at one of the many tables available. They ever have a super cute bar in a vintage trailer serving up a small selection of cocktails so that you don’t have to go back inside unless you want to. Happy hour specials include $2 off liquor, draft, import, and craft beer, as well as $3 off specialty cocktails, wine, and domestic beer.

Sunroom
1315 N Mills Ave., Orlando, FL 32803
Tuesday-Saturday 6 pm – midnight
Golden Hour: Tuesday – Saturday 6 – 8 pm

If you are looking for something a little more chill, Sunroom is tucked next to its sister bar, the Guesthouse. While the bar can sometimes be anything but sunny inside, there is a wide-open space full of seating behind Sunroom and The Guesthouse where you can enjoy the Florida weather. The Sunroom serves up a great menu of creative cocktails in a somewhat mid-century modern type of setting.

Happy Hour: Tuesday – Saturday 5 – 8 pm

Southern Craft cocktail bar located in the Milk District of Orlando serves up a variety of fresh libations and craft beer. This LGBTQ+ friendly spot offers up a great playlist, whether it is coming from the overhead speakers or the live music in the corner. The Milkhouse
201 N. Bumby Avenue, Orlando, FL 32803
Sunday – Wednesday 7 am – 10 pm, Thursday 7 am – 12 am, Friday & Saturday 7 am – 2 am
Happy Hour: Sunday – Thursday 3 pm – 6 pm, Friday and Saturday 12 am – 2 am

Located in the heart of the Milk District, the Milkhouse is a comfortable creative space that houses some of the most noted Central Florida food & beverage brands. Along with being able to get a great craft cocktail, there are also plenty of food options. My personal favorite is being able to enjoy some Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream with my cocktail. What else can you ask for?

Close-ish! It was called Wekiva Island, it was tequila, cinnamon, pineapple and coconut. So, close to a Painkiller but with tequila. It was perfection!
