On Saturday I (along with 3 friends) ran in the K-Swiss Catch Me if you Can 5k. There were a couple things I really liked about this race – it was in Sanford (so I didn’t have to wake up as early), it didn’t start until 8 am (see previous comment), there were only 131 people in the race, AND the ladies got a 3 minute head start. The whole idea of the race was that the ladies got a 3 minute head start on the fellas and they had to try and catch up.
But do you want to know what the best thing about the race was???
I ran my fastest 5k to date! Oh yeah! 37 minutes and 51 seconds. Which made me super happy because I was shooting for 40 minutes or less. WOO HOO! Also, I was not the last person, or the last lady, or even the last person in my age group. I finished 87 out of 131. I was VERY proud of myself on Saturday.
