This weekend I went to Tampa to help out my bestie Laura. Her cupcake business, Cupping Cakes, was one of the food vendors for the brand new Gasparilla Music Festival in downtown Tampa. What a crazy weekend! Friday we spent most of the day and night frosting close to 400 cupcakes for the following down. We stopped once for lunch and then again to drop off cupcakes and the festival site and grab some dinner.
Saturday morning we were up at 6 am to head out for our 15+ hour day at GMF. It was so much fun! We got to listen to great music, see some friends, sell LOTS of cupcakes, and meet new people. I think Laura is all ready on board for next year!
From a vendor stand point things went REALLY well, especially for a first year event. There were a couple of people who didn’t follow the rules set out by the event promoters, which caused problems for others, but other then that things were pretty awesome. AND we didn’t have to setup/breakdown our own tent. Which was really nice at the end of our 15 hour day! I really didn’t notice how long of a day we had until I was taking off my shoes to crawl into bed. Geesh! Thanks GMF for a great day 🙂
