In less than 2 weeks I will be heading to the Omni ChampionsGate Resort with my bestie for a 3 day staycation for my birthday. I love the Omni and it is the perfect place to “get away” for a couple of days and celebrate with friends. Today I’m sharing 5 things you NEED to do on your Omni staycation.
1. Get a room with a view
On a staycation you may spend a little more time in your room than if you left the state, so made sure that you get a room with a view. Bonus points if that room has a balcony as well. Waking up and enjoying your coffee out on the balcony is definitely a great way to start the day.
2. Spend as much time poolside as possible
At the Omni ChampionsGate this is SUPER easy to do! With the addition of their new wave pool and kids pools, they have FOUR pools for you to enjoy. My favorite? The lazy river of course! But I will definitely be checking out the wave pool when we go. A wave pool, at a hotel. Too cool!
3. Enjoy a cocktail
I will be the first to admit that cocktails at luxury resorts are on the pricey side and I’m not always ready to spend the extra cash. But if you are on “vacation” then you should treat yourself to at least once! I can tell you from experience that the bartender’s at the Omni Resorts know how to make a tasty cocktail. So at least if you are going to spend a little bit more you are going to get a little bit more. Cocktails poolside are a must!
4. Check out one of the onsite restaurants
Omni Resorts have some of the best onsite restaurants around! Great food, amazing chefs, and super friendly staff make staying “in house” for meals a definite must. At the Omni ChampionsGate they have a buffet brunch on the weekends that includes mimosas. We will definitely be taking advantage of that on our trip.
5. Make Smores
A number of the Omni Resorts have a fire pit where you can make smores. When you check in, find out where you can pick a pre-made smores kit. Adults and kids alike will enjoy this fun summer time activity.
