Football season for the Florida Gators starts on Saturday and I am SO happy! I will be at the first game of the season and hope to celebrate a win with my fellow Gator fans and Alumni. But the rest of the season I will have to catch the games on tv. Unfortunately I don’t have came which means that if I want to see the games I will have to venture out to a local sports bar to see them. Thankfully this year I have a new option for what to go – Duffy’s Sports Grill.
Duffy’s has numerous locations around the Orlando area and they just opened one in Altamonte Springs that is right up the road from me (talk about convenient). Last week the folks at the Millenia location hosted the Central Florida Lady Bloggers so that we could all learn a little bit more about them.
Duffy’s Sports Grill was founded by two childhood friends turned business partners in Lake Park, Florida in 1985. They currently have 34 locations in Florida, 4 of which have opened within the last year, with another one opening in Cape Coral this month. One of the best things about Duffy’s is they have a scratch kitchen – everything is made on site. Cool huh? They also have ‘happy hour’ all day every day (2 for 1 drinks) which makes watching any sporting event just that much more fun.
During our event we were able to try out some of their most popular appetizers. We had peel-and-eat shrimp, Coconut – Crusted Dolphin Fingers, Mozzarella Sticks, chicken quesadilla, Toasted Margherita Flatbread, Roasted Artichoke & Goat Cheese Flatbread, boneless wings, and Fried Mushrooms. Everything was amazing, but I have to say the mozzarella sticks were my favorite. They are hand cut and beer battered – oh my yum!
For drinks I was able to try the Watermelon Margarita (a seasonal drink) and a Pomegranate Margarita. During the event they brought out their All American Bloody Mary which was a hit with all the ladies. How can you not be a fan of a drink topped with a bacon cheeseburger slider?
Of course we had to ask the general manager about all the tvs around Duffy’s. The location at Millenia as 103 HD TVs showing a variety of sports. When it comes to which game you actually get to hear they will ALWAYS show a Florida team before any other. Great news huh? So whether you root for the Gators, Knights, or the Bulls you are always bound to be able to catch a Florida team on the big screen. When their patio area is complete they will be able to broadcast the sound from two different games at one time. So if you aren’t a Gator fan you can go outside to watch your team (I kid, I kid).
I had a great time learning more about Duffy’s and getting to show off my new favorite sports grill to some local bloggers. Thanks to Rockaway PR and Duffy’s Sports Grill at Millenia for a great night!
