Dinner A’Fare Meal Kit Review

When I heard about Dinner A’Fare and their meal kits I was super excited. My bestie told me about them because they are based out of the town that she lives in near Atlanta. I loved the concept and reached out to them. How excited was I when 12 meals showed up at my door last month?!

A little about Dinner A’Fare…

Ken and Stephanie opened their first “meal assembly” retail location in 2004. Stephanie brings her artistic design, expression and love for the culinary arts to Dinner A’Fare. She never strayed far from her roots as her passion for cooking, fresh foods, and “bringing families together” was born from spending time on her grandparents’ working farm in North Carolina. When she met her future husband Ken, who was studying business and technology, the core ingredients of Dinner A’Fare started to come together. Since their journey began, they overcame economic downturns, “venture capital-backed” corporate competitors, and personal/physical challenges to grow today’s thriving business. Ken and Stephanie quickly realized that in order to be convenient dinner had to be delivered. Dinner A’Fare began prepared dinner delivery throughout metro Atlanta, and shipping nationwide. They have always focused on bringing families together by providing delicious, healthy, high quality, “kid-friendly” meals.

Your meals include EVERYTHING that you need for your meal! Each meal contains:

  • A super simple recipe card. We’ve done all of the chopping for you!
  • Ingredients to prepare the dinner you ordered, separated in bags so you can add what you want and leave out what your kids don’t.
  • Use the brown paper wrapping as a cooking mat, wrap it up and toss it in the recycling bin. (This is GREAT for easy cleanup!)
  • All packaging is 100% recyclable.
  • A delicious and easy dinner, family time, and getting back to the dinner table with healthy food you and your kids love!

I know one thing that you are probably thinking. What if I don’t want/need to cook all the meals right away? They have 3, 6, and 12 meal options to choose from so you are able to get the number of meals that work for you and your family. Also, all of the meals can be frozen! You read that right. All the meals can be frozen until you are ready to cook them. Just throw them in the fridge to defrost the day before you want to cook them. This worked out wonderfully for me since I’m cooking for one and don’t necessarily want to cook every single night.

So how does it work when you are cooking for one? Well you have two options. First, you can get the meals that feed 2-3 people and you will have two delicious meals for yourself. This is what I did and it was perfect. The second option is to go for their 12 individual meals. The price point for these meals is a little higher, but it is great if you aren’t a fan of leftovers.

The individual meals go straight into the oven with zero preparation!   Everything is completely assembled for you in an oven-safe pan they provide.  There are many different choices and the menu changes more frequently than the monthly menu for family-size dinners.  They are great for families that have college kids, an older parent living with them, someone who works from home for lunch, or a 1 person household.

All in all I really loved these meals! They have a great selection to chose from each month, the recipes are easy to follow, the ingredients are ready to go, and they are super tasty. About the only things I could find “wrong’ with them is that some of the ingredients are a little hard to get out of the zippy bags they come in. But that SO isn’t a deal-breaker. I will definitely be ordering these again!
