Last week I had the chance to attend The Dinner Party Project here in Orlando. What is The Dinner Party Project? Its a super awesome event here in Orlando where you get to have dinner with 7-11 random Orlandoans and enjoy food created by a local chef. The dinner I went to was actually all local bloggers and I promise to share more about that in another post. But this post is about the awesome way we started the evening – with a Blackberry Lemon Gin & Tonic.
When the drinks were brought out they were so pretty but I wasn’t too sure about them since I wasn’t a fan of gin & tonic. I decided to give it a shot and try one and boy am I glad I did. It was AMAZING!
Dana, the creator and mastermind behind The Dinner Party Project, is also the one who creates the cocktails for each of the dinners. She was nice enough to share the recipe for this cocktail with me so that I could share it with you and recreate it at home.
Blackberry Lemon Gin & Tonic
Blackberries
Simple Syrup
Gin
Lemon juice
Tonic or Sparkling water
Put two large blackberries in a cocktail glass. Put 1 oz of simple syrup in and muddle the two together. Add 2 oz of Gin and a healthy splash of Lemon juice. Add a couple pieces of ice and top it off w Tonic or Sparkling water. Garish with a half moon of Lemon.
Side Note: At the end of the evening we all got to take home a bottle of Onli Lemon Mango Passion & Mint. I was certain Dana has used this in her drink, but found out that she didn’t. We got to talking and agreed that it would probably work really well! I’m thinking you could swap out the lemon juice and tonic water for Onli and call it a day. I totally plan on trying that when I make these at home. Now I just need to find some gin…
I love gin drinks. that especially sounds fantastic. I’m going to be your date for one of these events one day. Once the babe is off the boob, I’m making the trip over for a night out! I seriously drool over some of your dining posts. 😉 miss ya
That sounds like a great plan 🙂 I miss you too!
