I will be the first to admit that I hate headphones. I love the idea of listening to music while I run, but I don’t feel it is safe (I like being able to hear things around me), I don’t like things stuck in my ears, and the cords flat out drive me batty. This combination of things means that 99% of the time I run with nothing but the crazy thoughts in my head.
So when I was given the opportunity to check out the Trekz Titanium Pink headphones I was intrigued. What is so different about THESE headphones you ask? Well first off, Trekz Titanium Pink are wireless, sweat resistant and perfect for fitness enthusiasts. They don’t go inside or over your ears, so you don’t need to worry about them falling out mid-workout! No cords AND they don’t go in my ears? Sweet!
You can also make and take calls, enjoy music or podcasts on the go with Trekz Titanium Pink for 6+ hours without needing a charge. And you don’t have to choose between listening to Justin Bieber or your running partner. You can enjoy the company of both, since these headphones don’t go inside or over your ears and block out your environment or conversations. Safety first people!
Trekz Titanium Pink are also IP55 rated – which technically means you can hose them down and they’ll survive. They don’t suggest you go swimming with them, but rain and excessive sweat won’t do damage!
So how did these puppies work on my latest test run? (ha ha, test run) Pretty darn well I must say. It takes a little bit of trial and error to get these in the right place. The transducers, the part that makes the sound, should rest on your cheekbones, in front of your ears. The frame should loop over your ears, with the band resting behind your head and close to the neck. I know it sounds a little off, but it works. I swear. They also come with Fitbands, which are two small rubber loops intended to offer a more secure or comfortable fit if you are having some issues. They slide over the transducers, and rest mid-arm on the frame, with the flap facing up.
I really liked that I could listen to music on my run but still hear what was going on around me. I always run on paths or sidewalks when I’m running, but I want to make sure that I am aware of my surrounding. Safety first ladies!
