5 Dog-Friendly Spots to Enjoy in Orlando

One thing I love about Orlando is that there are so many dog-friendly spots around. Now is the time of year when we are all getting outside more to enjoy the beautiful weather. If you are heading out for the day, you don’t have to leave your best bud at home! Here are 5 of my favorites in no particular order.

7 Helpful Hints for Traveling with Your Dog

Gnarley Barley & GB’s Bottle Shop

Having just recently relocated to Ivanhoe Village, Gnarley Barley is a compact, no-frills sandwich shop with a sizable selection of craft brews and frequent specials. Grab a spot on their outdoor patio overlooking Lake Ivanhoe to enjoy a great sunset view of downtown Orlando with your dog.

If you are just looking for a spot to grab a beer, head just a couple blocks up the road to GB’s bottle shop (owned by the same folks as Gnarly Barley). They have a great selection of beer on tap and in cans, plus you can have your pup with you inside or out.

Lake Baldwin Park

This canine paradise is situated on over 23 acres of land, complete with a lake and trails. This park features a beach, surrounding trails for on-leash adventures, and a dog wash station. Lake Baldwin Park doesn’t just think about the dogs. There are picnic tables, pavilions, bathrooms, and plenty of shade courtesy of the many oak trees on the property.

Lake Baldwin dog park is perfect if you are looking to make a day out of your dog park adventure. Just up the road from the park is Downtown Baldwin Park, which is walkable and features a variety of restaurants and bars that offer outdoor seating. With the cool breeze off the lake at just about any place that has outdoor seating, Baldwin Park has plenty of dog-friendly options to choose from.

Park Avenue in Winter Park

Park Avenue is a great place to head if you are looking to spend some time outside with you pup and maybe grab a drink or a bite to eat. This walker-friendly area is full of restaurants and bars, most of which have outdoor areas where well-behaved pets are welcome. They even have a farmer’s market on the weekend that is dog friendly as well.

Wekiwa Springs

Touted as one of Central Florida’s oldest tourist attractions, Wekiwa Springs State Park is home to an abundance of natural thrills that can be enjoyed with your pup. Doggy paddle anyone? The springs are a popular place to launch canoes and take a dip in the always 72-degree water.

Lake Eola Park

Lake Eola Park is a perfect dog-friendly spot to spend your day exploring with your best friend. The destination offers a Farmers’ Market on Saturdays and local events throughout the year. Year-round there is always the iconic fountain, a beautiful path with receptacles along the way, as well as resident swans to discover.

And don’t forget to swing by Persimmon Hollow, which is right on the edge of Lake Eola Park, for a bite to eat or a refreshing beer. They have a great outdoor area with plenty of seating for you and your pup.

These are just a few of the many pet-friendly spots in Orlando. With so many options to choose from, you’re sure to find the perfect place to take your furry friend.
