Now through October 19, Marlow’s Tavern is offering a five-week long “Ribs & Whiskey” menu. During this time, all locations will serve up an assortment of saucy, stick-to-your-ribs selections for diners in search of fall fare.
“Ribs & Whiskey is just a fun way for us to celebrate this time of year and the memorable flavors that come along with it,” says Executive Chef/Co-Founder John Metz. “We want our guests to look forward to visiting their neighborhood tavern for this one-of-a-kind menu every year,” he adds.
Last week I had a chance to try out some of the items on the Ribs & Whiskey menu with some of my favorite bloggers. Even though I’m not a huge whiskey fan, I had to start the night off with one of the specialty cocktails from the Ribs & Whiskey menu. I got the Triple Crown which had Old Forester Bourbon, Combier Orange, Dolin Rouge, fresh lime, and Fee Brother Cranberry. Holy cow was that a strong drink! But it was tart and oh so tasty.
For appetizers we had a few to share – the Daily Smoke-House flatbread (which was my favorite), asparagus fries, and JT’s kettle chips. I never thought about having pulled pork on pizza/flatbread before, but it was just amazing. It’s a good thing I had to share it because I could easily have eaten a whole one myself.
I had a hard time deciding what to get for my entree. Part of my kept saying that I needed to get the ribs, but I also knew that I’d already eaten my far share of tasty things and knew there was still dessert to come. In the end I decided to go with A Pig With Buns – Slow-Roasted Pulled Pork, Crispy Tobacco Onions, Basted with Chipotle
BBQ Sauce on a Buttery Soft Roll and a side of fried mac-n-cheese. Yum Yum Yum!
One of the coolest things they do is bring out a BBQ sauce tasting plate to go with your meal. They bring out four very different sauces for you to try and use on your meal. I’m pretty sauce everyone at our table tried all four sauces regardless of what they had to eat.
We ended our meal with some incredible whiskey bread pudding. I really didn’t have much room left, but when they set down that beautiful bread pudding topped with ice cream and caramel sauce I just couldn’t help myself. It was SO worth it.
The “Ribs & Whiskey” menu includes a variety of saucy specials and rib ticklin’ drinks, including the following:

Marlow’s is also offering a selection of Southern side items to round out the meal such as Soon-To-Be-Famous “two potato” potato salad, Southern fried okra, fried mac and cheese and chili slathered corn on the cob. The fried mac and cheese is simply AMAZING! It is made with pimento cheese of all things. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it was spot on. We asked the general manager if they would please leave it on the regular menu. *Fingers crossed that they done*
Thanks to Richeson Communications and Marlow’s Tavern for inviting me out to try this amazing menu. You still have five more days to check it out and I strongly recommend that you do. The menu is available at both Orlando area locations.
