Cinco de Mayo in the US is a very interesting day of celebration. Even though I love tequila, I usually stay home on this day of craziness. But this year I’m here to tell you about a Cinco de Mayo event that just might be worth leaving the house for
This Cinco de Mayo, Cocina 214 – Central Florida’s famed Tex-Mex restaurant, is hosting its seventh annual Running of the Chihuahuas event at its Winter Park location. This family-friendly event invites locals, visitors and pet-lovers alike to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the beloved Chihuahua run, fresh margaritas, authentic Tex-Mex cuisine and festive delights.
Proceeds from the Chihuahua run will benefit Winter Park Lost Pets and the Poodles and Pooch Rescue of Florida. The event will also feature drink specials such as $5 214 Rocks with Sauza, $3 bottled Coronas, $5 Hornitos Flo’Rita, $7 Hornitos Plata, $7 Tito’s Lonestar Lemonade and $10 Loaded Coronas with Mi Campo.
Want to enter your Chihuahua in the race? Registration is open on their website with a $15 donation. All proceeds will benefit the Winter Park Lost Pets and Poodle and Pooch Rescue of Florida. Register your Chihuahua here.
