ClassPass – My first week

Remember that ClassPass thing I told you about? Well last Wednesday I finally got started trying out classes using it. Over 6 days I took 3 class at 3 different studios. You can take 3 classes PER studio PER cycle (month), so it gives you the ability to go to studios you like often but keeps you from only going to one studio.

You can reserve a class by clicking on one of the venues, and then selecting the class you would like to attend. Press the “reserve” button next to the class and confirm your reservation, and you’ll be added to the list! You do not need to bring a voucher or print out to class — just bring a photo ID. New classes are available to book every day at noon and most classes are available to reserve on ClassPass one week in advance. I did notice that not ALL of the classes a studio offers are automatically available via ClassPass. One of the studios I went to had Sunday classes on their schedule in the studio, but when I checked out the ClassPass website they had nothing listed for Sunday. So just keep that in mind if you fall in love with a particular studio.

The first class I tried out was Aerial Yoga at Allure Dance. I’d heard about Aerial Yoga so decided I should give it a shot while I had the chance. The night I went the class was on the small side due to our cold weather, but I was kinda happy about that. The teacher took some time getting all the hammocks ready and then class started. It is kind of hard to explain other than saying that you do various yoga poses in the hammock or while being supported by it. I found the whole class rather terrifying. I can hold my own in most yoga classes, but you put me a few feet off the ground and my scaredy cat side comes out. I want to go back and try it again but I’m really not sure this is the class for me. Oh, and they have pole dancing classes too 🙂

The second class I tried was a Yoga Class at YogaFlo. YogaFlo JUST opened, so I was excited to check out their studio. I loved it. The class I attended was small and the teacher Leah was amazing. It was a little hard and I had to push myself, but I left there feeling amazing. I’m bummed that I’m busy the next two Thursdays and won’t be able to attend another of Leah’s classes, but I’m definitely going to try and make it back to YogaFlo for another class.

My third class of the week was by far my favorite class. I wasn’t sure what I was going to think about it, but it was the first class other than yoga that I left thinking “I HAVE to do that again!” I went to Bar Basics at The Bar Method Winter Park. I was warned that this class might be a little tough and they weren’t kidding. But it was awesome! It worked every muscle and I left the class feeling energized.

There are a lot of classes that I can’t take because of my hip and knee problems, but in this class I was able to do everything during the hour long class. I came home sore, but I knew it was going to turn into that “good” kind of sore. I hate using weight machines at the gym and I think this class would be a great way to build and tone muscle. Within an hour of getting home from class I signed up to go back again next week.

I’ve really been enjoying my ClassPass trial and took forward to trying out some more classes over the next two weeks!

*Disclosure: I was given a month long trial of ClassPass in exchange for a review and social media shares. As always, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
